Snow Days

Yep, I guess when you live in the mountains, you get plenty of snow. I was even told that this year was a very mild snow year. Yuck. But the kids had a blast playing in it. For Christmas they got all the gear so we sent them out to explore the supposed greatness of winter.

We have a hill out front that even I, the hater of winter, went sledding down a few times. Unfortunately, grandpa made a jump on the hill. The boys nicknamed it the "nightmare." My rear end didn't fare so well. I steered clear of the nightmare after that. But fun memories were made.

Determination

My counters are not safe anymore. I used to be able to put anything up there that I didn't want Kaden to get at. Not so much anymore. Today would be a great example. Both kids had a cookie. Abby needed to go potty so she put her cookie up on the counter. I've warned her about leaving things on the table where Kaden can get at them. So she left. Next thing I know, Kaden comes over to me with his mouth full of cookie and one in his hand. I looked over to the counter and noticed a chair slid right over to where Abby's cookie used to be. I asked him if he ate Abby's cookies. A big head nod in the affirmative and a smile was all the answer I needed.

Out comes Abby. Can you just picture her...hand on her hips? She wasn't too happy with Kaden so with determination of her own, she slid a chair over to the pantry and grabbed herself another two cookies. Not just one. Maybe she figured that she was owed interest or something. What a pair I have.

Some new things

Just a few random things that I have learned while here in Idaho.

One: I'm fairly handy with an axe! I can chop up wood with the best of them. And my fire starting skills are rapidly improving. At least I won't freeze to death.

Two: Driving around in the snow doesn't completely freak me out anymore. Just a little, but getting much better.

And Three: (This is the big one) I now know how to use the lower gears on the van to make it up my hilly driveway. Never really knew when to use those...now I do. I'm feeling so good about myself!

There you have it. In a nut shell I'm pretty pathetic. But, did you smile just a little and only roll your eyes a tad bit?

Love, Hate Relationship

Right now I hate my computer. It's dead. Really, really dead. Can we save the pictures and some files? Who knows. But for now, I sneak onto Ryan's when he's away. So probably no picture posts from me for awhile. Sorry folks. I know that you were all dying for information about our boring lives...

The Disappearing Act

We had a little get together at our brother and sister in laws house this afternoon. While we were there, the adults decided to play a board game. So we sat Kaden up in the high chair and gave him some fruit snacks to eat to keep him occupied for awhile. The little red, gummy treats kept disappearing from the tray. I thought to myself, "Oh good. He likes them. I wasn't sure he would..." I kept putting the little snacks onto his tray. He was as happy as a clam. A bit later, at home, I noticed his shirt was a tad bunch up. I lifted it up and saw this...

So that's where all the fruit snacks ended up. A little Houdini.

I can't even watch

We were making french toast for dinner the other night. The kids must have been hungry because they were all hoovering around the cook: aka Ryan. Ryan was cracking the eggs into a bowl when Josh said that he wanted to drink a raw egg just like on the movie Rocky. Now if I was cooking I would have said heck no! But not Ryan. He just chuckled and said that he'd give Josh a dollar if he could finish the whole thing. Oh my heck. I couldn't watch. I had to leave the room. Needless to say, I now have a son who is one dollar richer. He was so proud. Isn't that the nastiest thing ever???

Do I really have to?

Wear Pants, that is!

Isn't this a stylish hat?

Or maybe a scarf?

Okay Mom, enough with the picture taking already!
