Some new things

Just a few random things that I have learned while here in Idaho.

One: I'm fairly handy with an axe! I can chop up wood with the best of them. And my fire starting skills are rapidly improving. At least I won't freeze to death.

Two: Driving around in the snow doesn't completely freak me out anymore. Just a little, but getting much better.

And Three: (This is the big one) I now know how to use the lower gears on the van to make it up my hilly driveway. Never really knew when to use those...now I do. I'm feeling so good about myself!

There you have it. In a nut shell I'm pretty pathetic. But, did you smile just a little and only roll your eyes a tad bit?

No eye rolling here, i'm very impressed actually. I couldn't start a fire to save my life. Your doing awesome.

Dang, if you are chopping wood I bet you have some nicely defined arm muscles! I'm envious. :)

Plus, if you can start a fire you'd do GREAT on "Survivor". I swear, 75% of the people on that show can't build a fire to save their life. :)

It is actually quite impressive, Mary! I still don't know what those lower gears are for! We still wish you were closer and didn't have to learn all those lessons.

I'm impressed about your axe skills. I would like to see you do a reenactment of that scene from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers where they dance and sing with their axes.

I've only ever used the different gears in my car when driving down a mountain so that you don't have to brake as much. I'm not sure how to use them to get UP bumpy terrain. So, good job!

As for driving in the snow, I'm pretty decent at it now, but I still hate it. But I hate driving in really bad wind the worst (you know, where you feel like your car will get blown off the road at any second?).
