Best Buds

Josh takes being a big brother very seriously. He loves his little brother...that is until Kaden gets cranky then Josh immediately sends him over to me. It doesn't matter if I'm on the phone, cooking dinner or have my hands full. But isn't that what being a big brother does? They play together when when Kaden is happy and cute but he turns him back over to me for the dirty work. I want part of that action. Who can I turn over my kids too when they get cranky? Daddy. I'm all for that!

Wake Up Call

Should I take offense at an 8 year old's comment?

Me: Gee Josh look at these weeds. They are out of control. Maybe we need to get some more weed killer and spread it around.

Josh: Why don't we just pick them?

Me: It'll be easier to just spread the weed killer.

Josh: No really Mom, it's good exercise to pick them.

Me: I think that weed killer would work better and it'd be a lot quicker too.

Josh: But Mom, you REALLY need the exercise. Remember at the park when you couldn't even hardly run back and forth across the field...

Now in my defense, we were sprinting across the field. I can only sprint for so long. I'm a much better jogger. And yes, I do need to exercise, but coming from my 8 year old, it's a bit disheartening. I guess I should get on that exercise bike again...

Bubble Babies

My bubble babies having a great time in my tub. Oh my goodness. They had the best time. They giggled and giggled. Sometimes I'm too hard on them and I don't let them just be kids. As I sat back and watched, I realized that I need to relax and just let them have a little fun, because there is nothing better than just pure laughter and delight. I loved watching every sweet minute of it!

6 and 6 Picture Tag

This is a fun tag. This is the 6th picture in my 6th folder. Josh on his first day of Kindergarten back in 2006. Boy he was excited! I have to say that I'm jealous of his small little bucket of supplies. Now, we have to come up with a whole list of things. No kidding, the list was a whole page...dry erase markers, construction paper of all sizes, sketch pads, binders and folders (and they had to be certain colors too), paper plates, ziplock bags, index cards...oh my heavens. The list went on and on. I had my Mom and Dad with me and it still took us forever to find everything on the list. Back then it was easy. Just the basics. Didn't you just love Kindergarten?
