Is there a doctor in the house?

So Ryan and I headed over to the hospital to be induced on Tuesday. We were supposed to be there at 7:30 in the morning. We got all the kids squared away and we drove over. We were taken back and admitted. Answered all the questions, got all settled and we waited for the doctor to show up so we could get started. We waited for 6 hours. Now, what was the point of being at the hospital at 7:30? I kept telling myself that the doctor must have had a good reason for making us wait that long....

My doctor finally showed up around 1:15 and broke my water. Things moved on their own and I didn't even need potocin to start my contractions. The anesthesiologist didn't seem to think that I would need medicine that early so he gave me one dose to numb my legs a little and didn't even hook me up to anything else. My nurse was horrified when she found out what they had done. So, we can say that I went through all the trouble of having a huge needle stuck in me without any of the benefits. I felt every contraction, and they HURT! I'm 1 for 4 in the epidural working department. That's not a good record.

Kaden finally made his entrance at 3:05 pm. Not a record for me, but not bad. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. He has lots of dark hair and was pretty blue from bruising on his face. He checked out all healthy!

Did you ever find out why the doctor was so late?
