Free Fun

There is nothing better than a really big box to play in. Josh, Ethan and Abby had so much fun with this box. First they used it as a slide, then it became a car and then a club house. They spent days coloring it and having me cut out windows. It was great fun but I hated having it just laying around on the living room floor. I finally threw it out...sort of. It's now a really big box taking up space in my garage. One of these days, I'll try to shove it in my recycle can.

Oops....

Who left the cereal down where Abby could get it??? Oh, um, I guess that was me...fidget, fidget. I guess she was hungry!

Late Christmas Pictures

Christmas morning! It really did happen. I'm sure that many of you thought that I was making it up, but here are the pictures to prove that the kids indeed had a visit from Santa because they were good this year!

We had a nice morning. My kids don't get up early in anticipation. (But isn't that what makes Christmas so exciting? I think they are missing something!) Anyway, I think Abby wandered into my room at about 7:45 and we ended up waking Josh up at 8:00. We saw what Santa brought and had a nice big brunch of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. If it were just up to me, I'd have cinnamon rolls every Christmas morning. That just seems like Christmas to me....

The kids played, and played some more and I think that they were happy with the gifts that they got! Hooray. A big relief!

We topped of the evening with a wonderful turkey dinner with all the fixin's. Oh and don't forget the chocolate pie for dessert. That's the best part (in my opinion.)

Christmas...a tad late

Here are the boys at our ward Christmas dinner. The Primary put on the program and the boys were citizens of Bethlehem. Notice the belts around their heads? I couldn't think of anything else to keep the towels on with. Of course later I thought that old ties would have worked better...but hey, I do what I can!

Okay so I have to re-download my camera software onto my computer to post our other Christmas pictures. Is it worth it? Downloading the software eventually--yes. Posting our Christmas pictures so late that people think that I'm a little crazy...Probably not so much. Sorry Mom and Dad!

Weather Alert

I was just looking at the weather and I noticed that there was a severe weather alert. Curiously, I started to read. Our severe weather was a "fire watch." Apparently things are dry enough with just enough wind to constitute problems for fire.

Now, I'm really liking the no snow thing here in Texas, but a fire watch has almost pushed me over the edge. That just shouldn't happen in January. That's just wrong.....all wrong!

Yippy Skippy!

My computer is fixed! It's been pretty much dead these last two weeks. It would freeze before I even had time to boot up anything. Ryan entered in safe mode, saved my pictures and some files and zapped everything else. We're in the process of re-installing Microsoft Office and other programs but my internet works! Yay. I can finally post some Christmas pictures and share our adventures this last week! Because I know that you've all been dying to know how we spent our Christmas holiday. :-) Well probably not...maybe just Grandma and Grandpa! But pictures will be coming so be on the look out!

Happy New Years!

It's January 1, 2009! It doesn't seem any different except I slept in a little later than usual. We had a nice New Year's Eve bash last night. We played games, watched movies and had lots of treats...as it should be on the last day of the year.

Ethan was curious about New Years Eve.
Me: "We're having a party tonight. We get to eat lots of treats and stay up until midnight."
Ethan: "Well, what do you do at midnight?"
Me: "You get to yell "Happy New Year! because it's the first day of 2009."
Ethan: "That's dumb!"

Yeah, I guess it is kind of dumb, but we enjoy it anyway.

At 9:30 Ethan informed us that he wanted to take a rest! We got his mind off of "resting" by eating some treats. At about 10:00 he was eating slightly frozen cream puffs and told me that the cold was making him sleepy. Finally at 10:55 he gave in to his drifting and zonked out. Abby made it till 9:45 and Kaden finally went to sleep at 9:50.

Josh stayed up till 12 (if we would let him, he would stay up that late every night.) He banged on pots and pans and yelled Happy New Year outside and watched some of the fireworks from the window. I guess he had a good time. I was about ready to zonk myself by 12. Ryan wanted to start another movie at 11:00 and I said heck no! I'd be asleep before we even got through the previews! I'm not a night owl, nor am I a morning person. But I made it and had a nice evening!
