Just a word of advice

Just a word of advice.

When getting warm by the fireplace, don't stand too close! Not only do your buns get unreasonably toasty warm, but your jacket will melt causing a large hole to form in your newly purchased jacket. And then your mother will have to spend the next hour scrapping, with a knife, the remains of the melted jacket off of the glass. It isn't pretty. So don't do it.

Hope that bit of advice helps anyone out there today. Have a great day!

Mary.... the really sad part of this story is that you are still using a fireplace in APRIL! ;) (I'm sure the cool weather is better than the wild stuff going on down here!) Glad it was just a little coat melting. At the start of your post I was wondering what caught on fire!

Oh no!!! What is wrong with the world that you are using your fireplace at the end of April?? Of course, as I type, it's a blizzard outside! Crazy Utah weather! Crazy melting jackets!

Oh man! The embarassing thing is - I've done that. Just about 2 years ago - with my boots rather than a jacket, but at my Mother-in-laws house. Ack! Spencer made fun of me to no end, and you're right - it was no picnic to clean up!

Stink! I'm sorry! We've had to use our fireplace too. Why is this spring so cold?
