It's that time of year again. We love to carve pumpkins. Josh was the one who drew out the design and then all the kids helped (with my supervision) use the knife to cut some of the face out. I've always wanted to buy one of those kits that comes with fancy designs and a tiny little saw...maybe next year?

Ewww. Gross! I can't imagine why the other kids didn't want to stick their hands in...Ethan and Abby used a spoon and refused to get "gross and dirty!"

Gutting the belly of the beast.

A Josh original. Now we just have to get a candle, put it outside and in the words of Ethan, "let it light up the dark."

We're doing our today. I've been putting it off. I'm wary of the mess it makes. The past two years we de-gutted on the back deck but this year it's too cold. The kids picked out enormous pumpkins this year....I hope they are just big and not thick too.
We are doing ours today too. I let Mike and the kids handle the "degutting", it's just yucky. But I love the end result, they are so fun.
what a good mom! we haven't carved a pumpkin in a few years... mine are made out of plastic and have a lightbulb in them. :)
We did ours lastnight and the kids had so much fun.
Awesome! We didn't even get around to carving pumpkins this year. We planned on doing it today but the kids were out playing with their friends and having a great time so we decided not to make a big deal out of it. I wonder what will happen when they realize that we didn't do it.
Cute pictures, cute family. I love to carve pumpkins too. How fun that your kids can do it together for a great family tradition.
