Tis the Season

It's officially the Christmas season. I bought my first Christmas present today. No, I didn't get up at an insane hour and hit the stores on Black Friday. I'm to lazy for that...but I did get online and shop in my PJs. That, I'm willing to do. Much nicer. Most of my sisters are well into their shopping (probably almost done) and I'm just getting started. Yikes. I better get a move on.

On another note, we had five houses on our street that had Christmas lights already turned on this last week. I wonder how many will join the ranks to light up our neighborhood now that Thanksgiving is over. I would love to add lights to our house. It makes it so fun for the kids. I figure that Ryan won't do it so if I want it done, I'll have to do it myself. Lucky for me, there isn't any snow to have to worry about so it shouldn't be any big deal. I guess the big deal is shoveling out the money to buy the lights in the first place. Maybe it won't happen after all. I guess we'll see!

Happy shopping and decorating!

We pulled into the neighborhood this evening and Lilian was delighted to see all the "lights! pretty!" Our house will be one of probably very few that won't be decked out in lights. I promised Bryan I'd never make him do it again...last year was a nightmare. Not to discourage you or anything, Mary. It's just, we have a very tall house and it was seriously scary last year.

If it makes you feel any better, we tried lights once and as it turns out the circuit outside is on the same line as all the kitchen appliances so the breaker went off every time we tried to turn on lights--so we aren't very festive, but I do love everyone else for catching the festive spirit.

P.S. Glad you've got a blog so I can keep in better touch with my cousins. . . . by the way, your kids are just darling!

We do lights every year, but it is all Jeremy. I love having them on but it always makes me nervous to see him get out there on the roof. We do the multi-colored ones which makes us a little more unique than just the white lights or patterned colors.

We actually have a great house for lighting - well, I mean that it has a boring, easily reachable roof line. Of course, I did them last year and since I'm not climbing up on a ladder 6 months pregnant, we may not have lights this year unless I beg Scott. There are other things I want more though I suppose.

Too bad we don't live closer...I'd let you use all of our Christmas lights. I bought a bunch after Christmas for like $1 a box...and since we don't live in our house anymore...I won't be using them.
I was one of the crazys that got up and shopped black friday....2am! It was a fun and crazy experience.
