Josh really likes snakes. I'm not sure where that came from. Certainly not from my side of the family. This is his pet webkinz snake Stripy. Of all the stuffed animals to chose from, he picks that one.

I let Josh use my markers this particular night and he drew this very colorful snake.

I've never seen a kid bring home so many snake books from the library. Sometimes he brings home 2 or 3 at a time. They are really gross with lots of close up detailed pictures of all kinds of snakes and their thousands of babies. Yuck.

Brandon was into snakes for awhile. He brought home oodles of books from the library and Bryan kept bringing him stuffed animal snakes from his trips out of town. I think, though, that part of the reason he was so into snakes was because he knew that I HATED them. I think he was purposely trying to give me the willies.
What is wrong with that little boy? Doesn't he realize that snakes are slimey and evil? I'm afraid I may have added to his fascination with all my comments about snakes in Grandma Dalton's yard in Provo, not to mention the one we actually saw. Be sure and tell him that snakes can be poisonous so never to pick one up. You have some nasty snakes in Texas. Dad
Maybe it's my husbands fault. Remember when he babysat and let them watch a show about spitting cobras (what in the world was he thingking?) and the boys really found it facinating . . .gross!
I'm sure he will grow out of it and be properly grossed out by snakes!
Yuck...I hate snakes too...I miss you guys...give everyone big hugs and kisses
Your cousin Chuckie was enchanted with bugs for several years starting at about age 3. I would check out encyclopedia-type books displaying different types of bugs to keep him quiet in church. (I don't know if a child poring over pictures of insects could be described as reverent but he was quiet--enthralled.)
One day he told me, "This is what I want to be when I grow up," and showed me a picture of a staghorn beetle. So see, it could be worse. At least Brandon doesn't want to BE a snake when he grows up. He's just interested. And I love the creative, elaborately patterned skin of the snake he drew!
