When Daddy's out

This is what the little kids do when Daddy's not home. You see, Daddy doesn't allow boys with bows, dresses, or anything else of the sort. Oh, and just so you know - I didn't do this! It was all Abby and Kaden! :-) They had a fabulous time and played so well together. . . .

Tinkling the Ivories

When we were visiting my parents at Christmas time, I happened to walk by and saw this. Oh, my heart just melted. I ran downstairs to search for my camera and hoped that when I got back, everyone would still be exactly how they were. Luckily they were and they played together for quite some time. I sat back quietly and watched full of love for both my Dad and my baby. Grampa and Kaden playing away.

Just a neat picture

Isn't this cool? This waterfall in summer is so awesome. But I loved what it looks like in winter. All frozen over like that. Every time I would pass it, I would think, "that is so cool. I should take a picture." So I did one day. So there you have it. One really cool picture.

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning came but not as early as I though. Ryan and I got to sleep in till 7:30. Pure bliss. We even had to wake up Abby and Kaden. I wonder what time the boys got up? They said they'd been up for hours. They probably peeked at what Santa left and went back to bed. That would be my guess!

Ethan got two Wii games that he's been wanting for quite awhile. I've got a few pictures of Ethan opening them, but he was so excited that all my pictures were blurry. Darn boy. Can't he hold still?

Kaden got a basketball hoop this year. He loves it. And without bragging too much...he's pretty good.

Josh and his spoils.

Yeah, that's Ranch Dressing. Hidden Valley to be precise. When she wrote Santa her letter this year, the list included Hidden Valley Ranch. Santa must have a sense of humor. She was beyond thrilled! It now sits in the fridge along with the family ranch dressing and we pull both bottles out every time we have salad.

Mom, it's urgent!

Yeah, about a week ago I was doing dishes and Josh's yells for me to come. Quick! I didn't come. The yells continued with urgency. I stop what I'm doing and go in there. What was so pressing that couldn't wait 3 minutes? Oh, just Josh and Kaden snuggled in Josh's bed with big grins on their faces. That, after all, is pretty darn important. They insisted on a picture. So here it is in all it's glory!

A good laugh

I debated whether or not I should post this. . . .you know, because I'm all sweet and innocent and all. (Ha!) But, I laughed so hard when I read it. Maybe it's because I have boys and this is the norm in our family. This came out of a book that Josh's teacher gave the kids for Christmas. It's called The Klutz Book of Brilliantly Ridiculous Inventions. It was pretty good. But the following was by far the funniest! Enjoy. . . .or not.

Snow Fun

Isn't it great that we have a grandpa who loves to play in the snow as much as the kids? He hooked up the sled to the 4 wheeler and pulled the kids around the backyard. Oh my goodness! They had so much fun. Yes, in the picture Kaden looks like he was miserable, but while they were going around and around, he had a HUGE smile on his face! Josh tried snowboarding. . . .he did alright, but fell off more than he was on. And Ethan? Well, he opted to stay indoors and sip hot chocolate while the other kids had a great time.
